Please click https://donate.illinois.versiti.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/5581065 to schedule your preferred donation time! \n\n\n\nWho benefits from blood donation? \n\n\n\nAt Versiti Blood Center of Illinois\, formerly Heartland Blood Centers\, we never forget the patients who receive the blood we collect. Every unit of blood is collected from volunteer donors who meet specific criteria and have been screened according to strict guidelines. Every unit (pint) is collected\, transported\, tested and stored according to tightly-controlled procedures. \n\n\n\nExamples of transfusion needs are: \n\n\n\nCancer: up to 8 units/monthBone Marrow Transplant: up to 2 units/dayLiver Transplant: up to 100 unitsAuto Accident: up to 50 unitsCardiovascular Surgery: 2-25 units\n\n\n\nThe first 25 to donate will get a pair of socks\, like these: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCome on out to donate! \n\n\n\nWe also need volunteers to help.
