Thanks to all of the members who came out for our 25th Anniversary celebration. We saw a collection of Past Grand Knights, had a visit from the IL State Secretary, saw our committed District Deputy and of course enjoyed the celebration with Fr. Herb and Father Pat.
Here is a nice shot of Past Grand Knights:
Supreme Knight Carl Anderson sent his regards and congratulations. Here are the proclamation and the letter from Supreme, noting this historical milestone:
Worthy Sir Knight Joe Pietruszynski, former State official and one of our council’s founding members, had the honor of presenting the letter and the proclamation. Here’s Joe awarding them to our Worthy Grand Knight Ron Longino:
Joe also presented a crucifix made from wood that served as the platform that held the Holy Father on one of his US trips to mark the occasion.
The Honorable State Secretary, Frank Schwartz, delivered some comments to mark the occasion. His message revolved around the courage that it takes to hold ourselves out as Catholic gentlemen in today’s society.
Ron had some comments on the occasion, highlighting our accomplishments and engagement with the parish over the last 25 years.
Past Grand Knight Steve Arthur also had some comments on why this chapter has been so important to him.
Worthy Sir Knight Joe Freeman, our Assistant Grand Knight, presented Fr. Herb with a Council 11092 shirt as a thanks for his duty as our Chaplain.
Our Council has been Star Council, and has received many other awards and honoraria over the years.
Of course, it’s not an 11092 party without food!
Thanks to Joe Freeman and Ron Longino for the planning and legwork required to make the event a success. And thanks to you, our members, for making us such an important part of St. Francis parish life. Here’s to the next 25 years and beyond! Enjoy all of our photos from the event.
