After the installation, we held a dinner and gave out awards. First up, we met our seminarian and awarded him $500 to support his journey. His name is Louis Alberto Fergoso Ron, and he is a very inspiring young man who has faced many challenges and remained committed to his calling. He is very personable and has a calmness that will enhance his journey to priesthood. Here he is with Ron:
Next up was Family of the Year, awarded to Al and Linda Kobylar. These two were present at EVERY social event! Spaghetti Dinner, Sunday Rosary, Pan Cake Breakfast, All three Teen Fish Frys, Corn Beef Dinner, and provided many great ideas to help make the year a success. They ran electric to the outside of the church, installed a hot water heater in the church sink, and removed the center wall in the shed. Al and Linda truly deserve this award!
Joe Freeman was recognized as Knight of the Year. All event planning preparation and execution was spearheaded by Joe. Joe has given the council a 500% commitment to ensure the council’s success. For every meeting, Joe prepared refreshments for the meeting and had them attractively presented. Joe supplied lighting for the Sanctity of Life Memorial and well as the equipment shed. Joe was always willing to do, to go to ensure all the little extras were there when needed. He made the calls, followed up with State as needed for council inquires. Joe was a ear for many to talk to and offer a helping hand to those who needed one. Joe is the first to arrive and the last to leave checking doors and locking up. Congratulations, Joe!
We look forward to a successful 2019-2020 fraternal year!
